ABOUT ME
Well, I'm not much of a knitter, but I was looking for some instructions on making a sock monkey hat and I found some great stuff along the way...kookie stuff, if you will.
Exhibit A:

This site has some great knitting ideas, like the wig shown, but they also have a cookie monster hat and stacking rings (right)
Here are instructions for a super cute candy corn felt bag that could be used for Halloween or just for fun. Unfortunately I couldn't get a pic; but trust me, you'll want to check it out.
T-Shirt Surgery is a cool place to check out examples of things to do with old T-shirts.
The image on the shirt to the left was done with freezer paper! See how here.
On a different note: I found this cool site for free printables, appropriately titled AllFreePrintables.com. They have everything from holiday printables, to chore coupons, to recipe cards and checklists.
A similar site is AllFreeCrafts.com. They actually have some really cute ideas and they even have a section just for green crafts, which I love.

At The Wurst Gallery's website you can see examples of artwork found at thriftstores that has been re-worked into personal masterpieces. You just mouse over the originals to see the new artwork. It's really a neat idea because so much of the artwork at thriftstores may never be bought and displayed again otherwise.
I have actually done a version of this myself, though I didn't actually incorporate the original so much as I just used the framing to make gifts for people. I didn't think to do before pics...unfortunately. Here is the final products however:

I Shop Indie is exactly what you might think. It's cool stuff made by artists. I really like it, though I use it more for inspiration than anything, as I do with most sites. here's some examples of their products:

In honor of tomorrow's Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive that's going on tomorrow (May 9th), I thought I'd post about an interesting site I found. The site's called The Bread Art Project and it's just that, a place where you can make art out of toast, or bread.
For every piece of bread art created, the Grain Foods Foundation will donate $1 to Feeding America (up to $50,000). You can do this through the bread art site or Go With The Grain. I would do the latter because I tried going through Bread Art and I had problems saving, but that could have just been me.
Here's my masterpiece titled, "My Boys":

Now as far as Stamp Out Hunger goes, place your bags full of non-perishable foods next to your mailbox tomorrow for your carrier to pick up. No glass jars and no expired foods. Refer to the above link for more info.

I know I've been gone awhile. As I've explained on my other blogs, this is the time of year that marks the anniversary of my father's birth and death. So, naturally, I have had my mind on other things. That aside, I thought I'd share some Mother's Day ideas.
Teacup Card -This is something little but different.
Scratch foam block printing-This is super easy and very neat. Kids and adults can partake in this craft.
DIY ART Paint by Pixel. Create a fun art project for your crafty moms. It's easy and FREE!
Maybe you're wanting to go all out this Mother's Day. Why not make a Concrete Leaf Stool for the garden?
